David Taylor
A contemporary British landscape artist, he is renowned for his atmospheric oil paintings that capture the raw beauty and power of land, sea, and sky. Originally trained and working as an architect, extensive travel inspired him to pursue painting full-time, drawing upon vivid visual memories rather than direct observation. Often described as Turneresque, his semi-abstract landscapes are characterised by dramatic light, shifting weather, and expansive horizons that evoke both emotion and contemplation. Working with oils, palette knives, and expressive brushwork, he creates richly textured compositions filled with depth and atmosphere. His paintings are held in private collections across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States, and he continues to paint from his studio in Dulwich, South London.
